Action

I just learned a new term for the guitar.

ACTION

If you find your guitar is hard to fret and barre, then the action on your guitar is probably too high.

(like mine)

Action refers to the distance of the strings above the fingerboard.

A guitar's action is too high for you if you find it excessively difficult to play clean notes when barre'-ing.

However, a guitar with high action can be played louder and more violently because the string which is vibrating is high above the fingerboard.

Thus, the string can vibrate alot without touching the fret and making a buzzing sound.

A guitar with low action is easier to fret and barre' but will make a buzzing sound when played aggressively.

So choose a guitar with a good balance of both.

But remember, comfort always comes first.

If you're not comfortable playing your guitar, you probably won't like it very much.

Okay,

So TOMORROW (Tuesday, 1 December) is report card day.

You may or may not be required to bring your parents depending on your results. That depends entirely on you.

HAHAHA.

Get it?

No?

Never mind.

But seriously, go collect your report cards tomorrow.

:)

I'll be in school helping out, so visit me, ok? :D

Just a short post.

Okay, have a great evening :)

Drifting

My blog title is inspired by Andy McKee.

His song title is 'Drifting'.

And he has done a cover of it on YouTube.

I personally feel that this song is a really beautiful masterpiece.

So click here to be INSPIRED!

the man himself
Andy McKee

Listening to that song just makes me feel like quitting guitar. xD

Cuz' I totally suck compared to that.

And on that same note, I might be getting an Admira guitar.

CLASSICAL please. :)

Ain't that a beauty???

Oh well, it's probably gonna cost 1.5K+ for a good classical that'll last.

BUT, it's a good investment.

Anyway, here's something I would like to blog about.

I'm pretty sure you guys have seen many of THESE types of guitars before.

These are called Stratocaster electric guitars.

This one is a Fender make.

Most people use these types of guitars because of one or more of the following reasons:

1) They're AWESOME looking!
2) *bangs head on wall*
3) Rock on!!!
4) Who the hell uses a tele?

Well, traditionally, most people go for the stratocaster over it's cousin, the Telecaster.

Here's a picture of a Fender Tele.

Tele.

Notice the aesthetic differences?

NO?

Look closely and you will see. :D

Telecasters have a more springy, stringy tune.

I personally feel that the telecaster looks like it was sent from the heavens. x)

But many would disagree with me.

Especially since the some Tele designs are not as pleasing to the eye.

Another Fender telecaster.

I personally prefer the previous Tele over this design.

So, after my classical, I am aiming for a Tele.

:D

Alright, now it's time to move on to a little section I'd like to call,

Choong Hou's review of outdated movies.

*DRUM ROLL!!!*

Well, I've only seen a few movies recently.

Here is one.

6/10

An overall entertaining movie. :D

If you're feeling brain-dead.

Haha. Kidding. But seriously, it's funny. Watch it.

I rated it 7 cuz the movie made me piss my pants.

Yeah, and you'll never guess that freak girl's secret.

It's a pretty darn good movie if you're looking for a scare.

But I'm probably just a wuss and the movie's not scary at all.

So, until next time, readers!

I WANT CLASSICAL GUITAR!

A bloody traumatic experience. Quite literally.

Did I mention that dissecting frogs is fun?

GIGANTIC frogs that aren't dead.

They're knocked out with chloroform.

And the scariest part is...
they could get up and hop about while being dissected!

WTF.

Luckily for my friends and I, that didn't happen.

*phew*

I heard a story that last time, a bunch of students were dissecting a frog, and it started jumping about, and its guts were falling all over the place.

AWESOME!

(I wonder who cleaned that up)

So, I did most of the cutting.

While Sek and Leong held the poor thing in place.

With forceps and plastic gloves of course.

So...
the worst part was the starting,
during the 'EEEEW!' and the 'HOLY *UTCKS!' and the 'OH MY GOD, EEEW!' phases.

Yeah, I'm squeamish.

I was one of the people going through those phases.

BUT.

I was a brave boy after that! HAHAHAHAHA.

Cutting the frog like I was cutting chicken for a very particular and picky king.

You know the initial part when you have to cut open the belly skin?

Then, cut open the SECOND belly skin?

And then look at liver and intestines?

So totally AWTHSUM!

After removing the poor thing's innards,
we then proceeded to mutilate its eyeballs!

YAY for science!

I (obviously) brought the eye back to class to scare chicks.

BUT, they were like, 'EEEW! Eh, damn cool!'

WTF,

Epic failure.

Oh well.

See what you ponteng-ers missed!

You missed frog-cutting day!

Okay.
Erm.

Class parteh! It was awesome!

Here's one measly photo. (down there. not up =.=)

Pssssssttt....
Nazneen has a nice house.

=D

And Danial makes good banana cake.

:)

And I am zee bezz chicken-grill-cook ever!

Just ask my satisfied customers. xD

Okay. And then...

Interact installation!

It was held in a classroom.

Trust me, whoever suggested the classroom is a genius.

I'm not exaggerating.

It felt more...
PERSONAL.

Know what I mean?

Everything was cozier.
(Yes, it was raining too)

So... that's about it.

OKAY! BYE BYE!

oh yeah, forgot.

Goodnight.

:)

A little too late to post this, but...

EXAMS ARE OVER!

yay.

So I wonder what everyone's going to be up to.

Going out with friends...
Watching TV...
SLEEPING...
DoTa... for the minority :)
Facebook-ing...
Blogging...
Camps...
like Prefects' Camp for instance.

Ooooo
I forgot.
HOLIDAY-ing.

Aren't there so many things to do during the holidays? (I consider *after exams* the start of the holiday =) )
note the exaggeration.

School is so full of life now.

Everyone is class-jumping.

Well, at least the ones who are not studying for Form 5 =.=

BTW,
I don't know if this message will get through to you, but...

Friendships are really special.
And if you've known someone for a long time, plus you guys are tight,
don't blow it just because of a small misunderstanding or unhappiness.

You two have been close since I've KNOWN you guys.

So, if you think you know who you are,
try to mend things up with her alright?

It sucks to see you two like this.

So.... FIX IT.

Alright.
It's late (sorta...).
Better be going off to bed, school tomorrow, not to mention the English oral test is on for those who have not completed it yet.

(My topic's a surprise)
:)

Goodnight, readers.

Sweet dreams.

(Don't think about the dust mites crawling up your ears when you sleep)

'Til next time.

Celine Dion - Because You Loved Me

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through
Through it all

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You give me faith cuz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me
